In honor of July 4th we thought we'd share 4 of our favorite spots for learning about successful women, the latest in investing and entrepreneurship in general and local resources - all to lead to women's independence as either entrepreneurs, investors or both!
Inc's Women Who Lead - the title says it all. A recent piece was on Cindy Whitehead, "The Entrepreneur Behind a 'Female Viagra' Won't Take No for an Answer." This amazing woman additionally founded The Pink Ceiling and was also a speaker at this year's Angel Capital Association.
Speaking of....the Angel Capital Association is likewise a great source for learning about general investing and the role angels can play whether you're an investor or an entrepreneur. While some information is member-only, a great deal is free and available to all.
Ellevest's Resource Center - this company helps women to take a very active role in identifying their goals and managing their money actively to do so. The blog, although from an Ellevest perspective, is well-written, full of interesting, relevant statistics and always has the vibe of encouraging women to take action. Their Mind the Gap is a great guide to "Minding Your Financial Future."
Locally, we have Chatham's Women's Business Center which through its partnership with the U.S. Small Business Administration, offers numerous resources specifically geared towards women entrepreneurs and small business owners.
