I had the pleasure of kicking off the 2017/18 Farrell Lecture Series at Seton Hill University's Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities. A big thank you to Debra Mason, Director, Wukich Center for Entrepreneurial Opportunities. The room was filled with about 80 business students, trustees, SHU President Mary Finger and Daniel J. Wukich, the benefactor of The Wukich Center.
I considered this opportunity a chance to start educating young people/future potential angel investors about the asset class we at Next Act Fund hold so dear- Angel Investing. I presented angel investing 101 plus I spoke about Next Act Fund's mission and goals.
Next Act Fund Member Kelley Skoloda, a graduate of SHU and former trustee, was in the audience. I asked her to speak about her experience with angel investing. The students were interested, asked good questions and reaffirmed the fact that they had never heard of, or learned much about angel investing! The goal was to expose these young people to the possibilities for them as future entrepreneurs and as angel investors.
"If you don't see it, you can't be it"... we started them thinking.
