Here is Black Tech in Pittsburgh!

unnamed.jpg

Hello BTN Supporter!

Last year we asked, "Where Is Black Tech in Pittsburgh?". This year we're back saying, "Here is Black Tech in Pittsburgh!".

Please join us as we sit down with three of Pittsburgh's most
successful black & minority entrepreneurs who have collectively
raised over $2 million. We will discuss each of their journeys, trials, and tribulations as minorities in Pittsburgh's tech scene.

Are we truly building an "inclusive" tech environment in this city according to those who truly live it?

As a bonus, we will sit down for a special fireside chat with CMU graduate and venture capitalist, Phil Bronner. A black investor with over 20 years experience investing in tech companies in Silicon Valley and beyond.

What was his experience climbing the VC ladder as a black investor?

Get ready. This will be a very interactive panel that will require audience participation the entire way through. I'm asking the tough questions - are you ready to answer them with our panel?

See you there!

- Kelauni Cook

Caffeinated Innovation: Understanding your term sheet

A term sheet may be the most important document an entrepreneur ever receives. The term sheet will summarize what the entrepreneur must give in exchange for an investment. The challenge, though, is that an entrepreneur, particularly a first-time entrepreneur, is not familiar with much of the language included in a term sheet.

This program will remove some of the mystery of a term sheet, as well as provide you with some direction for what you should do when you receive your term sheet.

Following an introductory overview of the term sheet from Frank Demmler, IW VP of Entrepreneurial Services, a panel of professionals will share their advice about different aspects of the term sheet.

Attendees will have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with these professionals following the program by signing up below on a first-come, first served basis.
